Digital Nomad Visa Cost & Tax Calculator
Estimate what a nomad visa will actually cost you in the first year — the government fee, insurance, and document costs — plus a rough read on whether you'd become a local tax resident. Every figure is a labelled estimate. Last verified July 2026.
What the estimate includes
The calculator adds up the visible first-year costs most applicants face: the government visa or permit fee (multiplied by the number of applicants), a rough health-insurance estimate where insurance is required, an apostilled criminal-record check where the country demands one, and a small allowance for translation and admin. It then checks your income against that country's official threshold and gives a plain-English read on tax residency.
Where we stop
We deliberately do not invent tax brackets. Where a country publishes a flat regime — like Spain's optional 24% rate — we show an illustrative figure and label it as such. Everywhere else, we tell you whether your stay is likely to make you a tax resident and point you to a qualified adviser rather than guess a number. Cost of living isn't included yet, because we won't publish figures we can't verify.
